Disability Consultation and Coaching

Elizabeth Hannaway, Ed.D.

Welcome — I’m So Glad You’re Here

Hi, I’m Liz—special educator, disability consultant, parent coach, and most importantly, proud mom to two amazing kids with special needs.

Someone once said parenting a child with a disability is like being placed in an AP parenting class when you thought you signed up for the regular track. The pace is fast, expectations are high, and half the time, you’re not even sure you’re doing it right.

I get it—because I’ve lived it.

I created this space to support parents and professionals navigating the complex, often overwhelming journey of raising or working with children with disabilities.

If you’re a parent...
You won’t find one-size-fits-all answers here. But you will find a thought partner—someone who can help you clarify what matters, explore questions and transitions, and take the next step with confidence. Whether you’re new to a diagnosis or deep in advocacy, I’ll bring resources, insight, and empathy—while always centering your expertise as a parent.

If you’re a professional...
I also consult with schools, camps, daycares, and organizations that serve children and families. I help teams understand how disability shows up in real-world settings—and how to create spaces that are accessible, welcoming, and responsive to all kids.

If you’re looking to create more supportive, inclusive experiences for neurodiverse children and their families—I’d love to help.

MY COACHING METHOD

  • FOCUS

We start by getting clear on what matters most to you right now—whether it’s your child’s school experience, your own confidence finding a better balance at home, or meeting your clients’ needs. Coaching begins with your priorities, not someone else’s checklist.

  • REFLECT

Together, we explore what’s getting in the way—logistically, emotionally, or systemically. We look at patterns, pressures, and roadblocks, and identify where you need strategies, boundaries, or just a fresh perspective.

  • Refine

We break things down into small, doable steps. You’ll leave each session with a clear sense of your next move—and how to move forward with more clarity and confidence. Then we adjust, adapt, and keep going.
